Lev Aleksรกndrovich Mei (Moscรบ, 1 de febrerojul./ 13 de febreroย deย 1822greg. - San Petersburgo, 4 de mayojul./ 16 de mayoย deย 1862greg.)[1]โ[2]โ fue un poeta y dramaturgo[3]โ ruso. Se casรณ en 1852 con Sofia Mei; los ingresos de Lev mantuvieron al matrimonio y su mujer pudo dedicarse al negocio editorial, fundando Mรณdnyi magazรญn.[4]โ En sus poemas cultivรณ una temรกtica histรณrica, asรญ como recogiendo el folclore de Rusia,[5]โ algunos de ellos fueron publicados en la revista Vremia.[6]โ Entre sus obras dramรกticas destacaron La novia del zar (Tsรกrskaia nevesta, 1949)[3]โ[7]โ y La dama de Pskov (Pskovityanka, 1959),[3]โ adaptadas por Rimski-Kรณrsakov en sendas รณperas.[8]โ
