Barit adalah sebuah mineral yang terdiri dari barium sulfat (BaSO4).Kesalahan pengutipan: Tanda pembuka <ref> tidak sah atau mempunyai nama yang salah. Barit umumnya berwarna putih atau bening, dan menjadi sumber utama elemen barium. Gugus barit terdiri dari barit, selestin (strontium sulfat), anglesit (timbal sulfat) dan anhidrit (kalsium sulfat).
