2018โ€“2022: Pembentukan dan awal tahun

2025โ€“sekarang: From the Pyre

Pada 17 Juli 2025 grup tersebut merilis "This Is the Killer Speaking", single utama dari album studio kedua mereka From the Pyre, yang dijadwalkan akan dirilis pada 17 Oktober. Lagu tersebut sebelumnya telah debut secara langsung pada Juni 2024 di Metronome Festival di Praha.[29] Mereka awalnya mulai mengerjakan album tersebut dengan James Ford, yang memproduksi Prelude to Ecstasy, tetapi Ford memutuskan untuk pergi setelah didiagnosis menderita leukemia pada tahun berikutnya. Pada Agustus, Markus Dravs menggantikannya sebagai produser.[30] Album tersebut juga didahului oleh tiga single lainnya, "The Scythe",[31]"Second Best" dan "Count the Ways".[32]

Pada 23 Agustus 2025, the Last Dinner Party dijadwalkan untuk bermain di Victorious Festival. Mereka membatalkan penampilan setelah insiden sehari sebelumnya di mana kelompok musik folk Irlandia the Mary Wallopers dihentikan penampilannya setelah mereka membawa Bendera Palestina.[33][34] Dalam pernyataan di Instagram, kelompok musik tersebut menulis: "Sebagai sebuah kelompok musik kami tidak dapat menyetujui sensor politik dan oleh karena itu akan memboikot festival hari ini".[35]

"Nothing Matters" digambarkan sebagai "art-rock bombast" oleh Rolling Stone UK,[16] sementara Evening Standard dan The Guardian menggambarkan penampilan dan suara mereka sebagai pop barok dengan sentuhan Babyshambles.[37][38]

Prelude to Ecstasy โ€“ A Short Film by the Last Dinner Party

Pada Agustus 2024, grup tersebut mengumumkan perilisan film mereka, Prelude to Ecstasy โ€“ A Short Film by the Last Dinner Party, yang dirilis pada 12 September 2024. Film ini disutradarai oleh Harv Frost.[73] Para penggemar dapat mendaftar untuk mendapatkan tiket ke pemutaran perdana film di Soho, London, di mana mereka dapat menonton film tersebut bersama kelompok musik. Film ini juga dirilis di YouTube pada hari yang sama.[82]

Mereka terus bekerja sama dengan Frost, yang kemudian menyutradarai video untuk "This Is the Killer Speaking", single pertama dari album mereka tahun 2025.[78][83]

Tur pertama kelompok musik ini diumumkan pada Juni 2023; ini adalah tur Britania Raya dengan 10 tanggal yang dijadwalkan pada Oktober 2023 dimulai di Perpustakaan Pusat Blackpool sebagai bagian dari "Get It Loud In Libraries".[84] Ini diikuti oleh tur Amerika Serikat pertama mereka, dengan lima tanggal yang dijadwalkan dari 31 Oktober hingga 9 November.[85]

Kelompok musik ini mengumumkan tur kedua pada November 2023 dengan delapan tanggal di seluruh Eropa pada Februari 2024.[86] Mereka mengumumkan tanggal untuk tur Amerika Utara pada Januari 2024[87] dan tanggal di Britania Raya serta Irlandia.[88] Tur berlangsung dari Februari hingga Oktober.
